Saimaa Gravel Tour 2025 changes
On behalf of the Saimaa Cycle Tour organisation, we are terribly sorry that we have to inform the participants of the changes on the day before the event. We were informed on Friday morning that the National Pole Fisnih Championships will hosted on the Saimaa Gravel Tour route, for which the authorities have given permission despite the fact that the cycling event has been known a year in advance.
For the above reason and due to the weather conditions, changes will be made to the Saimaa Gravel Tour schedule and route, details of which can be found below.
As tomorrow is forecast to be a very hot day on Sunday we advise all participants of the 150 km route to stop at the Soskua service station (2nd service station at 49 km). At the same time you can make the decision whether to continue with the long route or to move from the service to the 105 km route. If you change your route in the middle of the event, please inform the event office when you arrive at the finish line.
Schedule changes
The start times will remain unchanged, i.e. no changes will be made to the start times.
We have received a lot of feedback in connection with the numbers regarding the closing time of the finish. We would like to respond to this feedback with a schedule change. In addition, tomorrow is expected to be a hot day. Following changes will be made to the schedule:
- The last service point Myllymäki (30 km before the finish) will close at 18:00.
- The finish will close when the last participant crosses the finish line around 20:00.
If you want to cycle the 150 km route due to a change of schedule, you can change to the longer route free of charge. Please remember to inform the event office of any change before the start or when you arrive at the finish.
Route changes affecting the 150 km and 105 km routes
There will be two route changes, one before the Soskua service and second between the Lappeenranta service point and the Saimaa Canal.
- When the route reaches the Saimaa Canal, it has been rerouted to avoid the fishing competition – the route will move to the west side of the canal up to Soskua service point.
- The section between the Lappeenranta service point and the Saimaa Canal will be straightened out due to the delay in roadworks at the intersection of Hyötiöntien and Luukkaankatu.

Why are the distances of the Saimaa Cycle Tour routes different than on event names?
We have had to change the original routes after the events were published. These changes have added extra dimensions to the routes. The reasons for these changes include unexpected third party causes and reasons related to road use permits.
